The river effectively cuts the Valley in half. To the right of the Crossroads is a bridge that crosses the river from west to east. The path that leads south from your farm goes to a place where a number of paths meet. Your farmhouse basically stands almost in the centre of the Northern part of the Valley.
The updated versions of both guides should be uploaded to IGN later today.įor any one who may need the information NOW: I have a Characters Guide that does that, but that is organised according to the person rather than the location.Īn hour after I began this post, I wrote a new 'Map' section for both my General Guide and my 1st Year Events Calendar Guide. I have written 'map' sections in previous guides actually, so it is not entirely new for me, but I think that a little walkthrough of the Valley itself could be useful, with brief descriptions not only of the buildings but of the people inhabiting them and the best gift for each. It’s well-worth it as a wholesome distraction from the terrible world. When a player emailed me with respect to the little Walkthrough for the first week in Cute, bewildered and out of her depth completely, I had a sudden inspiration. I’m pretty sure you can buy a cheap second-hand Nintendo DS and the game at a bargain price now. If you’ve been living under a rock, check out Harvest Moon DS. I love the cute 2D animation style of the game and prefer it to the later 3D ones that are just creepy. Sure it brought back nostalgia, but the gameplay was solid and enjoyable and I was happy playing it. Honestly, despite the annoying task of getting the Sprites, I really loved this game. It can be really tedious and frustrating when you have a perfectly good woman waiting to marry you. There are 101 Harvest Sprites to be rescued and you can only get married after you’ve rescued 60. One thing I will say, is that it’s incredibly annoying to get all the Sprites. It’s really cute when you give someone the right present and even better when you surprise them on their birthdays.
As you progress, you find more hidden places and different events in the village. I really loved the overall gameplay of manning a farm and going through the village. Basically the characters are the same as Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life, but transported to the Nintendo DS. The young man you play also can befriend villages and choose out of nine bachelorettes to marry.
The Witch Princess sends Harvest Sprites to go rescue her, and it’s up to the player to find the Sprites to bring back the Goddess. The story begins with the Harvest Goddess and the Witch Princess fighting leading to the Harvest Goddess being accidentally sent to another world. It’s simple really, you play as a farmer who must improve his farm. Part of the Story of Seasons series, Harvest Moon DS was released in Japan over 15 years ago. It’s a farming-simulation game, but you also simulate the life of a farmer.
Harvest moon ds girl series#
To my sheer luck, I found Harvest Moon DS and I have become obsessed with the series again. Throughout lockdown, I decided that I would bring out my original Nintendo DS and see what games I still had.
